Devlog 17 - Finish

  Seventeenth  dev log for Production What's been happening this week? This week I have been setting up the animations and getting a FPS character into the room and doing my final checks around the place to make sure nothing has gone wrong and everything is ready for hand in. For the animations I made so the bike in the room would spin, and the bikes outside would drive around These came out super smooth but took me for ever to set up, the turning of the bikes on the road I wanted to be like the game/movie but making that look good is honestly really challenging. The flying ship was super easy to animate just took time getting the correct speed I wanted, it was either to fast or to slow but eventually I hit the sweet spot. That allowed for it to be seen but not for too long just like its flying. The cycle on the inside was super easy to make rotate because I just added an animation for it to rotate, split the bottom plate of the platform and made that spin at the same speed. T...

Sixteenth  dev log for Production What's been happening this week? Easter break happened between hear and now and I took a bit of time off for myself because i have a rough month coming up with all the work needing to be done. This week I worked on Texturing the room, setting the lighting up and shader setup.  Here is the textures of all the items added and even redid some original ones: Since i havent set up any lighting yet everything is quite dark, due to wanting to have a night time theme. The kettle and the toaster are made of metal and can be clearly seen they are with imperfections and reflections using matcaps for a better look. These were very simple to set up but had a few inverted faces I had to fix The knifes and the cutting bored were super easy to do due to separating the handle and blade into different materials, i then painted on the metal bots of the handle and were were good to go.  F ithteenth  dev log for Production What's been happening this week? This week i worked on getting all the models done for the room. Here is an image of all the model newly added to the rooms The shelves I wanted to look like how the TV shelf did but more shelf like and this is what was produced. it used the same material as the TV self and the pillars around the house, saving on texturing them. The wires I just needed to be simple and the shader I'm going to use will make it look like there energy flowing through them making them look great, these are just curves I converted to meshes. The fish tank is made with planes inverted to make the glass so I can do funky stuff with the shader. The fishes were made by tracing around a real fish and then filling them in and extruding. the rocks are just iso spheres and the seaweed is just a plane. Devlog 14 - Sprint 3

Fourteenth dev log for Production What's been happening this week? This week I worked on getting the end buildings made, Neon signs, Air vents, Textures and implementing it into unity with lighting and post  processing. These two builds are the end buildings, one with a baloney and one that doesn't, this gives a strange feeling on a huge building at the end of the street being evil. I want this building to stand out and be the evil colour in Tron (Orange) where as the building the player lives in is blue showing there good. This building was fun to make, I just extruded until I had something I liked the look of and then worked down from that to get what we have here. These are the NEON signs that I have made to go around the city, These are just meant to indicate shops and other services available in the city that would usually be shown by NEON signs.  Thirteenth  dev log for Production What's been happening this week? This week i made progress in the city creating the buildings, street and street lamps! Building A is very simple with a few window and shops own at the bottom, this look very much fits the theme I'm looking for as is also something that you'd find in a universe like this. This is meant to be a modular system so I can have a few of these and it wouldn't just look like a dupe. Building B is the same design at A but with some changes, different shop placement, a billboard in it and the windows in different places. This allows for both building to be places down but bot just look like the same building it adds variety with the addition of having a sign on it that I can change the texture of so its not just the same one everywhere. The look of these two buildings was made with extruding and bevelling giving a metal look but also roundish. I think both of these buildings turned out amazingly. The light neede...
