Devlog 17 - Finish

 Seventeenth dev log for Production

What's been happening this week?

This week I have been setting up the animations and getting a FPS character into the room and doing my final checks around the place to make sure nothing has gone wrong and everything is ready for hand in.

For the animations I made so the bike in the room would spin, and the bikes outside would drive around

These came out super smooth but took me for ever to set up, the turning of the bikes on the road I wanted to be like the game/movie but making that look good is honestly really challenging. The flying ship was super easy to animate just took time getting the correct speed I wanted, it was either to fast or to slow but eventually I hit the sweet spot. That allowed for it to be seen but not for too long just like its flying. The cycle on the inside was super easy to make rotate because I just added an animation for it to rotate, split the bottom plate of the platform and made that spin at the same speed. This makes it look like there connected but there really not.  The FPS character I used was one from last year we got from lessons.

Before making the final result I did many many zips around to make sure no material is missing or been deleted in the clean up. I found a few and just had to re add them it was nothing huge, just simple drag and drop fixes. I thin built the game and that's the end, one final test of the built game and everything went smoothly. Cant believe its over and iv created something I'm decently proud of. Some things still big me such as the fish animations I would have liked to do more but I don't have the time.

Thoughts on Finish

Its over the game has been built and is about to be handed in its crazy the work I have done I feel is some of the best i can produce from what I have learned over the years, this was my first time ever modelling a city/room or even doing hard surface modelling. It was a completely different experience to modelling a humanoid or clothing which is my strong area. Its been a hard push the last few weeks getting it to look the best I can. Some things id like to improve on is time management sometimes the fly's by while I work and I forget to do things or I don't do it for a while and then I have to quickly finish something in a night. The water fall methodology helps with that but sometimes I miss something I shouldn't have.

Round up

This project has been an amazing experience and iv loved all of it. Doing something new is always a great experience, even lighting and postprocessing was fun. Iv learned a lot of what to do and not what to do. Last thing is my evaluations due in a week but that's less stress then this was. This has been a great experience Thank you!
