Devlog 14 - Sprint 3

Fourteenth dev log for Production What's been happening this week? This week I worked on getting the end buildings made, Neon signs, Air vents, Textures and implementing it into unity with lighting and post  processing. These two builds are the end buildings, one with a baloney and one that doesn't, this gives a strange feeling on a huge building at the end of the street being evil. I want this building to stand out and be the evil colour in Tron (Orange) where as the building the player lives in is blue showing there good. This building was fun to make, I just extruded until I had something I liked the look of and then worked down from that to get what we have here. These are the NEON signs that I have made to go around the city, These are just meant to indicate shops and other services available in the city that would usually be shown by NEON signs.  Thirteenth  dev log for Production What's been happening this week? This week i made progress in the city creating the buildings, street and street lamps! Building A is very simple with a few window and shops own at the bottom, this look very much fits the theme I'm looking for as is also something that you'd find in a universe like this. This is meant to be a modular system so I can have a few of these and it wouldn't just look like a dupe. Building B is the same design at A but with some changes, different shop placement, a billboard in it and the windows in different places. This allows for both building to be places down but bot just look like the same building it adds variety with the addition of having a sign on it that I can change the texture of so its not just the same one everywhere. The look of these two buildings was made with extruding and bevelling giving a metal look but also roundish. I think both of these buildings turned out amazingly. The light neede...

Devlog 12 - Sprint 2

Twelve dev log for Production What's been happening this week? This week i have been texturing the model I made last week and then implementing them into unity allowing me to test there lighting. Texturing them was quite easy to do, due to the way I unwrapped these. I have having issues with the kitchen wood texture but then I remembered the option called tri-plainer, I think it was called and it saved my life from struggle. It allowed the wood to wrap perfectly around and look realistic. after the week has past and looking back on these textures the kitchen ones are a bit to light for the rest of the environment so this is something that I'm going to have to change in the future. I took the feed back i got from sprint 1 and turn the feedback into reality making the tv stand less "boring" and "square" making it nice and curved and not just flat this turned out amazingly and love the new design. for the window having one big one instead of having loads of sma...

 Eleven  dev log for Production What's been happening this week? This week i have been working on making the kitchen exactly how I envisioned it. with some size adjustments since the room changed. When making the kitchen my original design was to have the fire place in the middle of two counters but realistically that doesn't make any sense, either the player is a twig and can fit down tiny gaps or the firepit would be tiny which I also didn't want. This was another oversite in the Pre-Production segment, with the size change it still isn't possible and would just look back so i opted to remove the other counter top and replace it with a large firepit which I think looks amazing and turned out great in the end. The prosses of making this was very easy and simple not to much hard work, allowing for a nice calming activity of building this area.
