 Fifth dev log for Pre Production


What's been happening this week?

This week I have been working on the the final concept for the room and city as well as finally modelling my first block out for the light cycle.



These are the final designs for the layout of the room and the city. They are very simplistic and easy to understand. I improved on my last designed with having smooth edges and better proportions rather then just being a rough hand drawn scribble. These incorporate all the knew elements to each part. The city one might look bare but there isn't much I wanted to add otherwise it might get confusing have a tone of just boxes for the Neon signs and the vehicles and stuff so I just wanted to keep it simple and easy to understand. The room is perfect and exactly what I'm looking for, a mixture of new and fresh but with a hint of retro and old style.
Light Cycle Block out




This is one of my first hard surface models iv ever made and it came out really well I think. It was a pain to learn how to do it exactly how I wanted and I was scared to intersect my mesh but that's something I need to learn to not be scared of. it makes the mesh and design look cleaner either then trying to keep it all on one shape. It was a struggle getting the hole in the front to look good but after over coming my dislike for intersecting shapes it turned out great.

Sprint 2

Sprint 2 went really well. I feel like I'm on a good schedule and on time for what needs to be done and when. I'm keeping up with everything and if anything falls behind I plan to make up for it in sprint 4 depending on what it is. 













Thoughts On Progress?
I think I'm making good progress for getting the idea finalised with the final design. Now I need to work on getting the final block out and modelling some props. I think everything is going smoothly and the only thing might be the criticism I get from the bike. I don't think it will be bad but the poly count might upset some people.

What's Next?
Next is to work on getting more prop sketches done and out of the way ready for modelling, take the feedback i get from the presentation tomorrow and apply that to my work. Lastly work on getting a better final block out for the internal and external.
